Benefits Of Moving To Herongate, Ingrave or West Horndon
Herongate is a village on the A128 road between Brentwood and West Horndon. The village of Ingrave is 2 miles southeast of Brentwood and along with the adjoining village of Herongate it forms ‘Herongate and Ingrave civil parish’. The name ‘Ingrave’ was derived from the original manor called ‘Ging-Ralph’ or Ralph’s-ing’. West Horndon is on the boundary of Thurrock, 20 miles east north-east of Charing Cross in London. The village has its own parish council and the local school is West Horndon primary school. West Horndon falls within Brentwood county high catchment area and is mostly surrounded by gorgeous open countryside, with steep hills, trees and arable fields. There is a modern church, St Francis, and the village hall was built back in 1961. Transport links include West Horndon railway station, on the London, Tilbury and Southend Railway main line from London to Southend. West Horndon is also east of junction 29 of the M25 motorway and the village is served by two bus routes which both terminate in Brentwood.
