It is also a suburban development to the north of Romford, located just 14 miles north east of Charing Cross. However, this area is not connected to the London underground system, or the National Rail networks, but Hainault tube station, Newbury Park tube station and Romford railway station are all nearby. There are multiple bus routes as well as a commercial route from Epping to Romford and Lakeside that serve the local area. Situated just on Havering Road, Parklands School (which serves as both a primary and junior school) has been operating for over half a century, and in 1995 the school was awarded ‘Beacon Status’ due to the high level of education provided.
